As all of the history of the nation rests on an oral tradition, it becomes very important to consider the testimony from human memory, as being a privileged and considerable heritage.  Since the creation of the History and Archaeology Society in 1976, numerous projects have resulted in drawing out the «memories» of the elders who have, in turn, the occasion to testify to their knowledge.  This testimony may be in Nehlueun or French, and can be recorded on magnetic tape.  This important exercise of collective memory still continues today.
