The first people

The first people to walk the earth of the Americas populated the continent some 40,000 years ago.  The most widespread hypothesis supposes that a people originating in Asia were displaced from West to East passing by the Bering Strait.  Over thousands of years, these populations have roamed because of their need for food due to the fact that they lived mainly by hunting and fishing.  The populating of the Americas occurred over some 25,000 years before reaching the extremities of the continent.
