Birch bark
As for birch bark, its characteristics work in concert with the needs and aims of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh, notably in matters of dwellings and transportation. In effect birch bark was used to make canoes, and with birch bark one could make temporary or semi-permanent shelters before the arrival of woven materials.
