For the Pekuakamiulnuatsh, the Métabetchouan River has a fundamental importance, mainly due to the placement of a trading post at its mouth during the contact period.  But well before this trading post, the river already represented an important point due to the estuary that completed its course before reaching the Pekuakami.

Length of the river: 68 km
