The proto-Algonquin

Basically, everyone believes that there was a common language, at least for all the nations belonging to the extended Algonquin family.  It is known that the Cree throughout Canada, for example, had a common language to begin with, and that this same language is close to many Innu and Naskapi languages and other dialects in Eastern Canada.
