The Pekuakamiulnuatsh and industry

The woodcutting areas are injurious to the ecology of the territories affected; they directly affect our daily activities.  Small game does not reproduce as much as it did and some animal species are being reduced rapidly in quantity and quality.  The activities of our hunters have been reduced since they must be careful not to «empty» the area; the species must be able to reproduce for the generations to come.  Thus the forestry industry favours the intensification of sedentary occupations.
